don't want the SUN go down.....

I took the ferry back to cross Brahmaputra, it was late in the evening and saw a few fishermen rushing up with their fishing net.
the blend of orange, red, yellow colour was all over. In the sky and in the water..... The sun was setting at the other end..
I captured the sun set with my camera. Sun was going down so fast, didn't wanted to miss it, didn't wanted the Sun to go down,, as the setting was so beautiful and picture perfect......

The House of Membas

The beautiful Siyom valley is also the home of the Memba tribe....one of the ethenic tribes of Arunachal....the other one is Adi tribe but largely reside in the lower hills of the valley ....They still follow many primitive practices...Religion is animist..(follow shamanistic-animistic religious traditions)...But the Membas are Buddhist. They build wooden stilted houses which are pretty and unique to the area...The frame is made from Bamboo and the roof is a thick covering of leaves....the animals..pigs..goats...chicken are kept in the bottom portion while the owners live on the top floor !
The people are modernizing quickly, notice the new mobike parked under the house....Western clothes and mobiles are the latest accessories...n...fashion craze....The old ways giveth way to the new...generations !
After a few kilometers the valley narrows into a single motorable track and the steep..thickly forested...unexplored mist covered mountains begin to call you further....

Siyom Valley Welcomes You...

After the great crossing,  the road to Menchuka starts with the path entering into the Siyom valley....The Siyom river is one of the 5 major rivers that form the Mighty Brahmaputra. The river at the mouth is gentle...deep...slowly emptying into the Brahmaputra...The country is rolling hills and slopes...not very steep till Aaloo(one big town in Arunachal)... one more strange name isn't it..
The scenery of the Siyom leaves a trace in your heart n mind for lifetime...

Crossing the Mighty Brahmaputra

To set forth and venture into the virgin territory of Arunachal, one must cross the Mighty Brahmaputra river... the King ...The Brahmaputra is the largest, widest and probably has more water than all the  river in India ....The river is HUGE..n..WIDE...at an average almost 3 to 4 kms at the least, perhaps even more at other places.... It is one of the few rivers in India, in which  the fresh water bottle nosed Dolphins swim...There is a ferry which carries people and vehicles across, the crossing taking about 2 hours plus to touch the other side to Arunachal on the far bank of the river...On one side you see....its like that the river is carrying you to merge into the sea.... and other side you see the green hills....n.. mountain tips covered with white clouds..  welcoming you... And when you climb on the roof of the ferry... it's as if the wind is going to carry you away ,, to the direction you want to go....The 2hr. journey...is Beautiful.... you just don't want it to end.......

After a slow long journey across the gentle waves of the Brahmaputra, you reach across on the other side where the pristine mist covered hills of Arunachal beckon......

I WORK FOR BORDER ROADS......

The Route to Menchuka from the plains of Assam is a scenic and pictureous one that follows the path of the Siyom river.
MENCHUKA, TATO,,, strange names,  unheard before. These are places in Arunachal Pradesh. The place where natural beauty is still as natural as it was, its not been touched and destroyed by humans. I mean by us. One needs a permit to enter. So I was travelling along the Siyom valley which comes somewhere from Tibet n then empties into the mighty Brahmaputra. All of a sudden a halt, were I was not supposed to halt. Got to know that we were stuck in a landslide. I got out of Safari.. the view around me was awesome,, just could not stop clicking. ( more pics. about it later....) n than this little angel appeared . I saw him through my camera view finder.
His mom was working for border roads ......

Goldeneye

The rains had subsided but the chill was remaining.....I was sitting in porch, admiring the rain winding up.. n the last few drops, were here n there..  I took out my camera and wanted to capture the last final drops of rain, which drip down the leaves, drops so clear, totally pure or i can say PAKH... All of a sudden the corner of my eye caught this insect and immediately the camera captured this beauty, I had never seen such a God's creation before. Thanks to wikipedia which gives information about every damn thing. So now sharing the same on this blog, Its called the GOLDEN  TORTOISE  BEETLE, found in South East Asia...Thailand, Malaysia, Burma....Maybe the winds had gently flown this Goldeneye from Rangoon to me.....
